Drain the swamp: FBI exposed for conspiracy to defeat Trump

For months, Republicans have been saying the FBI investigation of the Trump campaign is corrupt. Democrats have long denied partisan politics influencing the investigation.

Now, all doubt has been cleared. Based on the Inspector General’s report released on Thursday, “partisan bias” is an understatement to describe the investigators.

The report features text messages from FBI agent Peter Strzok and former FBI lawyer Lisa Page, who were engaging in an extramarital affair and using their work phones to communicate with each other in order to hide the relationship from their spouses.

In August 2016, they had the following exchange via text messages:

Page: [Trump’s] not ever going to become president, right? Right?!

Strzok: No. No he won’t. We’ll stop it.

“We’ll stop it”?!

With these three simple words, an FBI agent admitted to a conspiracy to do whatever they can to prevent Trump from winning the presidency. This is a classic case of “find me the man and I’ll find the crime.”

It gets worse: it turns out these messages were conveniently “lost” when the Department of Justice presented its investigation to Congress. The messages were “found” by the DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz.

There is a word for this: corruption.

On top of this, there is the McCabe scandal, where one of the top FBI officials in charge with investigating Trump had an enormous conflict of interest: his wife was receiving money from the Clintons for her Virginia Senate campaign.

The attacks on the FBI at first seemed unwarranted. But scandal after scandal and turning a blind eye from Hillary Clinton and other Democrats proves there is a need for change in what is supposed to be a fair and neutral fact-finding institution.

Polls in April show the favorability of the FBI and Robert Mueller had been growing, even since the beginning of 2018.

One can only imagine what the polls would say now.

The FBI leadership has lost the trust of the American people, and rightfully so.

Someone needs to drain that swamp as well.
