New York AG fires another salvo at Trump Foundation

NEW YORK — New York has a strong case that President Donald Trump ran his charitable foundation with disregard for state and federal law, the state’s attorney general said Thursday in a new court filing.

Attorney General Barbara Underwood is suing the foundation, saying it broke rules prohibiting charities from engaging in political activity.

“The law is clear — private foundations cannot use their funds for the personal or business benefit of their directors, and they cannot engage in political activities,” the court filing argued.

Trump’s lawyers have asked a judge to dismiss the case, saying it was politically motivated.

In its latest salvo, state lawyers reiterated their demand that Trump be barred from being involved in running any charities for 10 years.

They said the foundation was improperly used to benefit Trump personally several times and was turned into a wing of his campaign organization during the 2016 election.

“The Board abdicated its fiduciary duties entirely, leaving the Foundation to operate without any oversight, and permitted Mr. Trump to use the Foundation’s assets to satisfy his and his for-profit companies’ legal obligations, to promote Trump hotels, to purchase personal items, and, in 2016 — at the direction of Mr. Trump and his presidential campaign — to promote Mr. Trump’s candidacy for political office, court papers said.

Trump’s lawyers have said any rule violations were minor.

    … and the Clinton Foundation?

Lawyers cross their fingers and say, “Any violations were minor”. Like $25,000 to Pam Bondi, the Atty General of Florida – who days later withdrew Florida from the Class Action lawsuit against Trump for his fake “university”. Like some $20,000 for two paintings of Trump. Thousands spent on Trump issues, precious little to legitimate purposes. Trump claimed to be making a donation to Veterans organizations – he didn’t – until it was publicized.

Remember–the Clintons live in New York, their Clinton Foundation accepted millions from Russians and others, used monies for Hillary’s campaign and Chelsea’s wedding, used pay-to-play to sell US uranium in return for contributions to them personally and Foundation–but I forgot, the new NY AG is in the bag for Demos. The facts be damned. P.S. As an female attorney myself, I suggest that the she at least learns to comb her hair–surely, she earns enough to at least buy a comb.
